I just purchased a new WIN 7 Pro PC with the ability to run WIN XP in a virtual machine. I was told that I need to go to an MS website and follow the instructions to validate that the installation was valid.

I can now run a virtual PC in XP under WIN 7.I have not (yet?) installed windowsXPModeNen-us.exe. I don't know if I have to, Does anyone know?I currently can open the virtual PC in XP mode. I only transferred a 32 bit game so far to see if it will work. It does, sort of.

Sort of means that the game works, but it hard to read the data, the colors or bad and the resolution is bad. On the WIN7 side, the colors and resolution are fine. This only the first step before I install Visual Basic 6.In addition while I have an anti virus trial version installed by the computer supplier, it does not seem to work in the Virtual PC.
Is that a concern, or am I protected by WIN 7?Thanks.
